Toyota, which produced its first car in 1934 , is currently the worlds' largest manufacturer of motor vehicles. Though producing a wide range of vans and small trucks suitable for conversion to campervans or motorhomes, these are seldom seen now. In the 1980s there was a vogue for Hiace conversions in the UK, and the Coaster was popular for this purpose in Australia. Few current models are now used for this purpose.
